Gazdáné Olosz Ella, (1937-1993)

Ella Gazdáné Olosz textile artrist
Teliu, 3 January 1937 – Covasna, 7 February 1993
Between 1950 and 1954 she attended the Mikó Girls’ Gymnasium in Sfântu Gheorghe.
Between 1955 and 1961 she studied textile art at the Ion Andreescu Institute of Fine Arts from
Cluj-Napoca.
Her masters were Sarolta Ciupené Király, Sándor Mohy, Jenő Szervátiusz, László Debreczeni
and Judit Szentimrei.
She taught drawing and needlework in Aiud between 1961 and 1964, and in Covasna from
1964 to her retirement in 1991.
Between 1970 and 1979 she made six one- or two-month study trips to Paris, London, Italy,
Greece and Spain, Turkey, Syria, Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Afganistan and Soviet Central
Asia.
The Ella Gazdáné Olosz Gallery (permanent exhibition) opened in Covasna on 6 September
2013.
In 2013 József Gazda and Attila Kopacz edited Ella Gazdáné Olosz’s monograph Eds.Kőrösi
